The Kennedy Cougars came tearing into Monday's matchup with four straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 13.7 points) and they left with even more momentum. They walked away with a 47-36 win over Simi Valley. Given Kennedy's advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 318th, while Simi Valley is ranked 904th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Kennedy's victory bumped their record up to 4-1. As for Simi Valley, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-7.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Kennedy will take on Panorama at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Hopefully Panorama focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 16 on Friday. Simi Valley is on the road again on Tuesday and play against Vaughn at 7:00 p.m. on December 5th. Hopefully Vaughn focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 22 last Thursday.
