The Calumet New Tech Warriors will head out on the road to face off against the Hanover Central Wildcats at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Calumet New Tech is hoping to put an end to a four-game streak of away losses.
Calumet New Tech's 9-2 record from last season is now well into the rear view mirror after another tough outing. They fell just short of Gary West Side by a score of 30-28.
Calumet New Tech's loss came about despite a quality game from Amarion Chandler-Terrell, who picked up 113 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
Meanwhile, Hanover Central put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their undefeated season alive. They took their matchup at home with ease, bagging a 35-0 win over Hammond Central. The result was nothing new for Hanover Central, who have now won seven contests by 23 points or more so far this season.
Matt Koontz and Caiden Verrett were among the main playmakers for Hanover Central as the former rushed for 25 yards and a touchdown and the latter rushed for 62 yards and three touchdowns.
Hanover Central's victory bumped their season record to 9-0 while Calumet New Tech's loss dropped theirs to 2-7.
Calumet New Tech took a serious blow against Hanover Central in their previous meeting back in October of 2022, falling 42-0. Thankfully for Calumet New Tech, Kyle Haessly (who rushed for 154 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 8.1 yards per carry) won't be suiting up this time.
