It's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 53-25, which was the final score in Oroville's's tilt against Cloverdale on Friday. While losing is never fun, Oroville can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 1048th, while Cloverdale is ranked 233rd).
When it comes to explaining why Oroville lost, one person who can't be blamed is Leila Jackson. Despite the final result, she scored 15 points. Those 15 points set a new season-high mark for her.
It was another big night for Tylie Hatcher, who scored 25 points along with six rebounds for Cloverdale. The contest was Hatcher's sixth in a row with at least ten points. Amara Galvan was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 12 points and 12 rebounds.
Oroville's loss dropped their record down to 2-9. As for Cloverdale, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 8-2.
Oroville won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Upper Lake at 3:00 p.m. on December 16th. Upper Lake is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'. Cloverdale and Kelseyville will face off at 6:00 p.m. on December 16th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Kelseyville will be looking to keep their three-game home win streak alive.
