Springfield Township is 0-5 against the Lions since February of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Springfield Township Spartans will head out on the road to take on the Lower Moreland Lions at 7:00 p.m. Springfield Township will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Pennsylvania Rankings (they are ranked 300th, while the Lions are ranked 136th).
Last Tuesday, Springfield Township had to suffer through a rough 64-32 loss at the hands of the Bears. Springfield Township has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Meanwhile, Lower Moreland stacked a sixth blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Tuesday. They blew past New Hope-Solebury 60-39. The win made it back-to-back wins for Lower Moreland.
Dani Brusha and Sydney Santora were among the main playmakers for Lower Moreland as the former scored 18 points along with eight rebounds and three steals and the latter almost dropped a double-double on 20 points and nine rebounds. It was the first time this season that Brusha pulled down eight or more rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Briana Mcferran, who scored eight points along with seven rebounds.
Springfield Township's defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 8-7. As for Lower Moreland, their win bumped their record up to 13-5.
Springfield Township lost to the Lions on the road by a decisive 76-59 margin when the teams last played back in December of 2023. Can Springfield Township avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
