Volleyball Recap: Carbon Has No Trouble Against Vanguard Academy

Carbon not only won on Saturday, but they posted their biggest win since May 10, 2024. They were the clear victor by a 3-0 margin over the Vanguard Academy Knights. This was a revenge game for the Dinos: when they faced off against the Knights on Friday, they had to take a 2-0 defeat.

Kyler Orth paced Carbon's offense, picking up ten kills. Orth were helped by Grant Mathis and Connor Gleave, who contributed 15 assists each. Charles Tima controlled things from the service line, finishing with five aces.

The win made it two in a row for Carbon and bumps their season record up to 4-4. That said, the team wasn't facing the toughest opposition over that stretch, as it included 3-4 Vanguard Academy and 3-4 American Heritage. As for Vanguard Academy, they now have a losing record of 3-4.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Carbon will head out to take on American Heritage at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Vanguard Academy, they will head out on the road to challenge Rockwell at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Vanguard Academy is facing Rockwell at the right time seeing as Rockwell is stuck on a six-game losing streak.
