Castilleja had won two straight games and Antonia Vlahos did her part to make it three on Saturday. The Castilleja Gators narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past the Freedom Falcons 46-43 thanks in part to Vlahos, who dropped a double-double on 31 points and 22 boards. That makes it four consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of Castilleja's points.

When it comes to explaining why Freedom lost, don't look at Eve Monzon. Despite the final result, she went 9 of 20 on her way to 20 points and four steals. The match was Monzon's fourth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Olivia Sepulveda, who posted seven points.

Castilleja's win bumped their record up to 9-1. As for Freedom, with the loss, they broke their five-game winning streak and moved their record to 9-5.

Castilleja wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 48-32 victory against American Canyon on the 30th. As for Freedom, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 53-33 win against Cosumnes Oaks on the 30th.
