Palmyra is 8-2 against Red Land since January of 2018, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Palmyra Cougars will head out on the road to square off against the Red Land Patriots at 7:00 p.m. Palmyra is coming into the contest hot, having won their last six games.
Palmyra posted their closest victory yet this season on Wednesday. They skirted past Mifflin County 40-37. Given Palmyra's advantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 117th, while Mifflin County is ranked 456th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Addison Salus and Mya Doster were among the main playmakers for Palmyra as the former scored 13 points along with six rebounds and two steals and the latter scored 16 points along with nine rebounds and two blocks. The team also got some help courtesy of Keely Bowers, who scored six points.
Meanwhile, Red Land earned a 45-38 win over Mifflin County on Friday.
Palmyra's record is now 12-2. Red Land's record now sits at 2-8.
Palmyra beat Red Land 38-26 when the teams last played back in December of 2023. The rematch might be a little tougher for Palmyra since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
