After a string of seven wins, the San Pedro Pirates's good fortune finally ran out on Monday. Their rough 76-55 loss to Rolling Hills Prep might stick with them for a while. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Noelani Raigans and Shalia Coleman certainly did their best on Monday to avoid the loss. Raigans scored 16 points along with three steals, while Coleman scored 19 points. Raigans is crushing the steal category: she's posted at least three every time she's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Maia Wooldridge, who scored ten points.
Rolling Hills Prep got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Regan Enright out in front who almost dropped a triple-double on 20 points, ten rebounds, and nine assists. It was the first time this season that Enright posted eight or more assists. Mia Fernandez was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 22 points and 20 rebounds.
San Pedro's loss dropped their record down to 11-9. As for Rolling Hills Prep, the win got them back to even at 11-11.
San Pedro will be playing at home against the Gauchos at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Narbonne will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps California Rankings (they are ranked 930th, while the Pirates are ranked 441st). As for Rolling Hills Prep, they will head out on the road to challenge the Tritons at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. One thing working in San Clemente's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last six matches.
