The Monrovia Wildcats will take on the La Canada Spartans at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday. Each of these teams will be battling to keep a four-game winning streak alive.
Last Monday, Monrovia earned a 10-6 victory over West Covina.
Alex Myers tossed a big game, tossing 5.1 innings while giving up three earned (and one unearned) runs off six hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Monrovia got a massive performance out of Troy Grise, who went 2-for-5 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple. That's the most RBI Grise has posted since back in February. The team also got some help courtesy of Kaleb Ellison, who went 1-for-2 with one home run and two runs.
Monrovia kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least 12 hits in three consecutive matchups.
Meanwhile, La Canada sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 5-3 win over Oak Park on Tuesday.
La Canada also got a great performance from Ross Piken as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit over five innings pitched.
On the hitting side, Austin Loughrin was excellent, scoring a run and stealing two bases while going 2-for-3. Another player making a difference was Will Park, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one triple and one run.
La Canada's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 7-7. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 6.3 runs over those games. As for Monrovia, their victory bumped their record up to 11-3.
Monrovia skirted past La Canada 7-6 in their previous matchup back in March of 2024. Does Monrovia have another victory up their sleeve, or will La Canada turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
