Baseball Recap: Nevada Union Puts Losing Streak Behind Them

After low-scoring totals in their previous three contests, Nevada Union brought some dynamite into their most recent matchup. They came out on top against the Placer Hillmen by a score of 11-6 on Saturday. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Miners as it put an end to their five-game losing streak.

Xavier Deniz was incredible, scoring three runs while going 4-for-5. Nevada Union is undefeated when Deniz posts two or more runs, but 3-7 otherwise. Nate Hundemer was another key player, scoring a run while going 3-for-5.

Deniz wasn't the only one working in the hit department: Nevada Union kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. Nevada Union is 5-1 when they post 11 or more hits.

Nevada Union now has a winning record of 8-7. As for Placer, their loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 7-6.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Nevada Union will square off against Twelve Bridges at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Nevada Union is facing Twelve Bridges at the right time seeing as Twelve Bridges is stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Placer, they will face off against Pioneer at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
