Deion Sanders, Marvin Harrison, Jason Taylor and Antonio Gates are some notable former NFL greats to have sons now creating their own path on Friday nights.
Seven of the 10 players are at least 4-star recruits and all have received at least one FBS offer.
The 10 fathers combined to win six Super Bowls, made 38 Pro Bowl appearances and three are currently in the Pro Football Hall of Fame.
Expect the next generation of this group to add to those numbers.
Played a key role in the secondary for the 7A Florida state champions last season. Son of NFL Hall of Famer Jason Taylor, he's landed six offers led by Maryland, Minnesota and Missouri. Was a first team all-state selection in 2019 and ended his junior season with nearly 800 yards receiving and 15 touchdowns. Father Tiki Barber is the New York Giants all-time leading rusher and his 10,449 yards are good for 27th most in NFL history.
The 4-star defensive back is one of the top players in Texas from the Class of 2022 with nearly 20 FBS offers led by Alabama, Texas, Oklahoma and USC. Bobby Taylor Sr. played in the NFL for 10 years and was a first team All-Pro selection in 2002.
One of the top prospects from the Class of 2022 has landed 10 FBS offers including Nebraska, Kentucky and Michigan State. He had over 600 yards receiving and five touchdowns as a sophomore. Antonio Gates finished his NFL career with 955 receptions for 11,841 yards and 116 touchdowns.
He's led the Tigers to three consecutive state titles and has thrown for 8,925 yards and 123 touchdowns. His father Deion Sanders was named the offensive coordinator before the 2017 season and they have gone 39-2 during that span. Shedeur already has 25 offers and checks in as the No. 13 pro-style quarterback from the Class of 2021 on 247Sports composite rankings.
The 2021 Notre Dame commit led the Tigers to their second Division 1 state championship since 2017 last year. He checks in as the No. 19 wide receiver on 247Sports composite rankings and is in the top 200 overall. Lorenzo Styles played three years at Ohio State and was a third-round selection in the 1995 NFL draft by the Atlanta Falcons. He played six years in the NFL for the Falcons and Rams and has been on the Pickerington Central coaching staff since 2013.
The 3-star edge rusher racked up 16 sacks and 25 tackles for loss for the four-time defending state champs. Brentson Buckner played in the NFL from 1994 until 2005 and will be coaching the defensive line for the Arizona Cardinals next season.
The 2021 Clemson commit is the top-rated inside linebacker on 247Sports composite rankings. Expect the Philadelphia power to start next season ranked in the Top 10 with the talent they have coming back led by Trotter Jr. on defense. Jeremiah Trotter played in the NFL from 1998 until 2009 and was a four-time Pro Bowl selection.
