Wood took a ten-run loss the last time they faced off against Pioneer, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Wildcats came out on top in a nail-biter against the Patriots on Thursday, sneaking past 5-4. This was a revenge game for the Wildcats: when they faced off against the Patriots last Tuesday, they had to take a 11-1 defeat.

Jason Hall was excellent, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-3. That run was his first of the season.

Wood's win ended a six-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 4-9. As for Pioneer, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 8-7.

Wood wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next match, a 14-0 victory against Sacramento on the 2nd. As for Pioneer, they have also already played their next contest, an 11-3 loss against Placer on the 3rd.
