Given Lincoln's advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 171st, while West Park is ranked 456th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Lincoln to victory, but perhaps none more so than Maya Hodge, who scored 25 points. That makes it three consecutive games in which Hodge has scored at least a third of Lincoln's points. Another player making a difference was Taylor Hodge, who scored 16 points.
Meanwhile, Nevada Union didn't have too much breathing room in their match against Oakmont on Friday, but they still walked away with a 40-36 win. The win made it back-to-back wins for Nevada Union.
Lincoln pushed their record up to 18-3 with that victory, which was their sixth straight at home. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 64.2 points per game. As for Nevada Union, their win bumped their record up to 7-9.
Lincoln took their win against Nevada Union when the teams last played on January 10th by a conclusive 72-47. The rematch might be a little tougher for Lincoln since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
