The Eagle Rock Eagles will take on the Arleta Mustangs at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Eagle Rock is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Thursday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand Triumph Charter a 10-0 shutout. The result was nothing new for the Eagles, who have now won seven contests by six runs or more so far this season.
Odin Tuntland tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only two hits while striking out nine over five innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in five consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Jake Sugi, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with three stolen bases, three runs, and one double. He has become a key player for Eagle Rock: the team is 5-1 when he posts at least two stolen bases, but 5-12 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Ty Perlas, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with three RBI, one triple, and one stolen base.
Eagle Rock was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .435. The last time their batting average was this high was back in March.
Meanwhile, it was close, but on Thursday Arleta sidestepped Marquez for a 6-4 win. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Mustangs.
Aiden Bedoya was excellent, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with three RBI and one stolen base. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high.
Eagle Rock's record is now 10-13. As for Arleta, their record now sits at 8-15.
Arleta's hitters will have their work cut out for them on Saturday. Eagle Rock has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7.8 strikeouts per game. It's a different story for Arleta, though, as they've been averaging only 4.1 strikeouts. Will Eagle Rock keep running through batters, or will the Mustangs buck the trend?
