The Forest Park Panthers will square off against the Pace Academy Knights at 5:55 p.m. on Monday. The two teams are strolling into their contests after big wins in their previous games.
Forest Park is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They blew past Mays 21-11 on Friday. With that win, the Panthers brought their scoring average up to 7 runs per game.
Jacoby Hendricks made a splash no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in strikeouts (four). He was also big at the plate, getting on base in four of his six plate appearances with two stolen bases, three RBI, and two runs. Forest Park is undefeated when Hendricks posts two or more stolen bases, but 5-8 otherwise.

In other batting news, Forest Park got a massive performance out of Carmello Turner, who went 3-for-5 with four runs, two stolen bases, and one triple. Those four runs gave Turner a new career-high. Trent Wilcox was another key player, getting on base in all five of his plate appearances with two stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI.
Forest Park always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .600. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their OBP total in three consecutive games.
Meanwhile, Pace Academy never let their opponents score on Saturday. They put the hurt on Mays with a sharp 6-0 victory. The win continues a trend for the Knights in their matchups with the Raiders: they've now won seven in a row.
The result came thanks to Dylan Nelson's shutout, as he gave up just five hits and racked up eight Ks.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Davis Morrison, who went 1-for-3 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one run. Another player making a difference was Owen Peretz, who got on base in two of his four plate appearances with three stolen bases and two runs.
The victory got Forest Park back to even at 8-8. As for Pace Academy, the win also got them back to even at 8-8.
Monday's matchup might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Forest Park has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .471. However, it's not like Pace Academy struggles in that department as they've averaged .437. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
