Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Adelanto). They simply couldn't be stopped on Monday as they easily beat the Citrus Valley Blackhawks 73-38. The match was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 42-17.
Adelanto's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Nyomi Sanchez, who went 8 of 18 on her way to 19 points in addition to eight rebounds and four steals. Sanchez is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last four games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Samone Brackenridge, who went 7 for 9 on her way to 17 points and three steals.
With the victory, Adelanto broke their nine-game losing streak and moved their record to 2-9. As for Citrus Valley, their loss dropped their record down to 4-4.
Adelanto wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 76-44 defeat against Burroughs on the 11th. As for Citrus Valley, they will welcome Orange Vista at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
