The Johnstown Christian Bluejays waltzed into their game on Monday with two straight wins but they left with three. They came out on top against Blair County Christian by a score of 45-32. Given Johnstown Christian's advantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 245th, while Blair County Christian is ranked 500th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Lydia Hileman and Calee Kennedy certainly did their best on Monday to try and avoid the loss. Hileman scored six points along with 13 rebounds and five blocks, while Kennedy scored seven points along with nine rebounds and four steals. That's the first time this season that Kennedy pulled down eight or more rebounds.
Johnstown Christian's win bumped their record up to 5-1. As for Blair County Christian, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-8 record this season.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Johnstown Christian won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Centre County Christian Academy at 5:30 p.m. on January 23rd. As for Blair County Christian, they will be playing at home against Calvary Christian Academy at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.
