If the Knox Redskins were riding high off their 76-33 takedown of the West Central Trojans last Saturday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Knox fell 65-56 to the Indians on Saturday. While losing is never fun, Knox can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 369th, while the Indians are ranked 153rd).
Knox's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Rowen Jordan, who scored 16 points along with six rebounds, and Myles Mclaughlin who scored 17 points along with four steals. Mclaughlin is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 15 or more in the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Nolan Short, who scored four points along with four steals.
Twin Lakes was led to victory by Jamison Ousley and Gavin Businger. Ousley scored 16 points along with four steals, while Businger scored 14 points along with four steals. Ousley has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last four times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Kyle Kyser, who scored seven points along with five rebounds and two steals.
Knox's defeat dropped their record down to 5-8. As for Twin Lakes, they pushed their record up to 12-5 with that win, which was their ninth straight at home.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Knox will square off against the Panthers at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Twin Lakes, they will head out on the road to take on the Kougars at 7:45 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Kankakee Valley focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up nine on Saturday.
