The Los Angeles CES Unicorns will head out on the road to challenge the Cleveland Cavaliers at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday. Los Angeles CES will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps California Rankings (they are ranked 404th, while Cleveland is ranked 125th).
It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Los Angeles CES had no problem doing just that on Thursday. They came out on top against the Knights by a score of 2-1 (the very same score they lost by in their prior game). The win was a breath of fresh air for Los Angeles CES as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.
They were led to victory by the tag-team duo of
Alyssa Romano and
Angie Contreras, who scored both of Los Angeles CES's goals. The pair have combined for a total of five so far this season.
Meanwhile, Cleveland kept a clean sheet against Chatsworth last Friday. They were the clear victor by a 4-0 margin over the Chancellors.
Los Angeles CES's record is now 9-6-1. Cleveland's record is now 14-4-4.
