The Westchester Comets scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Wednesday. They blew past Venice, posting a 79-17 victory at home. Westchester has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five games by 24 points or more this season.
Westchester can attribute much of their success to Serenity Johnson, who scored 21 points. Mariah Blake was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 16 points and 13 rebounds.
Westchester pushed their record up to 12-4 with that victory, which was their fourth straight at home. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 68.5 points per game. As for Venice, their loss dropped their record down to 4-8.
Westchester will head out on the road to square off against Long Beach Poly at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in California (Long Beach Poly is ranked 80th, while Westchester is ranked 75th). As for Venice, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Hamilton at 4:30 p.m. Hamilton has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 424 points over their last six games.
