The Prospect Panthers will head out on the road to square off against the Silver Creek Raiders at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Prospect is looking to tack on another W to their ten-game streak on the road.
Last Thursday, in a tight game that could have gone either way, Prospect made off with a 44-43 victory over the Eagles. Given Prospect's advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 225th, while the Eagles are ranked 516th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
It was another big night for Sadie Slaughter, who shot 4-for-4 from beyond the arc and dropped a double-double on 25 points and 12 rebounds. She has been hot recently, having posted 15 or more points the last three times she's played. Anbrielle Joan Mangoba was another key contributor, scoring five points along with six assists and five rebounds.
Meanwhile, Silver Creek's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their fourth straight loss. They fell to Lincoln 39-33.
Prospect's win bumped their record up to 18-3. As for Silver Creek, they have not been sharp recently as the team's lost six of their last seven matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-14 record this season.
Prospect strolled past the Raiders in their previous matchup back in January by a score of 36-17. The rematch might be a little tougher for Prospect since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
