Baseball Recap: West Park Extends Winning Streak to Seven

West Park waltzed into their game on Wednesday with six straight wins... but they left with seven. They were the clear victors by an 11-1 margin over the Cordova Lancers. The Panthers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won nine contests by seven runs or more this season.

Bradley Hunter looked comfortable as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over four innings pitched.

At the plate, Mason Zobel and Ayden Deome did most of the damage at the plate: Zobel scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-2, while Deome scored three runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-2. Christopher Fisher was another key player, scoring a run and stealing two bases while going 1-for-2.

West Park always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .536. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Cordova only posted an OBP of .250.

West Park pushed their record up to 14-4 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.5 runs on average over those games. As for Cordova, their loss dropped their record down to 9-7-1.

West Park will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Lancers: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
