Having just played yesterday, the Raymond Central Mustangs will get right back to it and host the Louisville Lions at 6:00 p.m. on February 6th. Hopefully Raymond Central is not getting complacent, as they presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than the Lions in Nebraska (the Mustangs are ranked 89th, while the Lions are ranked 234th).
On Monday, Raymond Central was able to grind out a solid victory over the , taking the game 57-44.
Meanwhile, Louisville's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their tenth straight loss. They took a 46-27 bruising from Logan View/Scribner-Snyder.
Despite the loss, Louisville saw an underclassman step up: Lilly Bax scored eight points along with seven rebounds.
Raymond Central pushed their record up to 11-8 with that win, which was their third straight on the road. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 61.3 points per game. As for Louisville, they have not been sharp recently as the team's lost 11 of their last 12 contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-16 record this season.
Raymond Central strolled past the Lions in their previous meeting back in February of 2023 by a score of 53-35. Will Raymond Central repeat their success, or do the Lions have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
