Johnsburg Central lost against Fort Ann in their previous head to head back in November of 2022, too, but the margin this time around was much closer than the 62-24 score last time.
Johnsburg Central lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Nick Sauer-Jones, who scored eight points along with ten rebounds and seven steals. Those seven steals set a new season-high mark for him. Another player making a difference was Nate Vanderwarker, who scored five points along with seven steals and five rebounds.
Fort Ann was led to victory by Alejandro Stowhas and Kadynce Cutter. Stowhas scored eight points along with seven rebounds and six steals, while Cutter dropped a double-double on 13 points and ten rebounds. Cutter set a new season high mark in steals with five.
Johnsburg Central's loss was their 11th straight on the road dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 0-6. As for Fort Ann, their win ended a four-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 2-4.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Johnsburg Central will take on Varsity Opponent at 5:00 p.m. on January 5, 2024. As for Fort Ann, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Granville at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
