Millard West is 9-1 against Bellevue East since August of 2019 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Wildcats will be taking part in a tournament against the Chieftains at 10:00 a.m. The two teams are strolling into their matches after big wins in their previous games.
Millard West's pitching crew heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Thursday. Everything went their way against Buena Vista as they made off with a 10-0 win. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Wildcats considering their one-run performance the contest before.

Addison Burdorf was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out nine over four innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in three consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one run, one double, and one RBI.
In other batting news, Millard West got a big performance out of Aubrey Burdorf, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two doubles, two RBI, and one run. Those two doubles gave Burdorf a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Allie Bergman, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.
Millard West always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .654. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Bellevue East, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Tuesday. They were the clear victors by a 10-2 margin over Bellevue West on Thursday. The Chieftains might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six matchups by six runs or more this season.
Cota Barmore and Audrina Urwin did most of the damage at the plate: Barmore went 1-for-2 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one run, while Urwin went 1-for-3 with two runs, two RBI, and one double.
Bellevue East is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last ten games. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-7 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 6.8 runs over those games. As for Millard West, their win bumped their record up to 12-6.
Millard West was able to grind out a solid victory over Bellevue East in their previous meeting on Saturday, winning 4-0. Will the Wildcats repeat their success, or do the Chieftains have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
