Benjamin Russell managed to keep up with Chilton County until halftime on Thursday, but things quickly went downhill from there. Benjamin Russell ended up on the wrong side of a rough 60-39 walloping at the hands of Chilton County. Benjamin Russell has not had much luck with Chilton County recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.
Meanwhile, Calera lost to Chilton County at home by a decisive 63-44 margin on Saturday. While losing is never fun, Calera can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Alabama basketball rankings (they are ranked 296th, while Chilton County is ranked 121st).
Benjamin Russell's loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 4-8. As for Calera, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost eight of their last nine games, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-19 record this season.
