The De Anza Dons's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their fifth straight loss. They were outmatched by Salesian College Preparatory at home and fell 71-29. De Anza was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 43-13.
Salesian College Preparatory got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Ayla Rege out in front who scored 18 points along with two steals. Rege hasn't dropped below two steals for three straight games. Madalyn Kanazawa was another key contributor, scoring 16 points along with four steals.
De Anza has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost ten of their last 11 matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-12 record this season. As for Salesian College Preparatory, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 10-8.
De Anza will head out on the road to take on Swett at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Salesian College Preparatory, Salesian College Preparatory and Redwood will face off at 8:00 p.m. on January 20th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday.
