The Glendale Adventist Cougars were the 27-22 winner over the Newbury Park Adventist Gators when they last played one another back in December of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. Glendale Adventist took a 36-25 hit to the loss column at the hands of Newbury Park Adventist on Saturday.
When it comes to explaining why Glendale Adventist lost, one person who can't be blamed is Sofia Escudero. Despite the final result, she dropped a double-double on ten points and 12 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Escudero has scored all season.
Glendale Adventist's defeat dropped their record down to 3-5. As for Newbury Park Adventist, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 4-4 record this season.
Glendale Adventist will head out on the road to take on Hillcrest Christian at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hillcrest Christian's defense has only allowed 25.8 points per game this season, so Glendale Adventist's offense will have their work cut out for them. As for Newbury Park Adventist, they will be playing in front of their home fans against La Reina at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
