With a playoff game on the line, Port of Los Angeles rose to the challenge on Thursday. They blew past the Scorpions , posting a 48-12 victory at home. Port of Los Angeles' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.
CALS Early College won a close one the last time they played, but unfortunately they suffered a serious change of fortune last Thursday. Their tough 35-13 defeat to University Prep Value might stick with them for a while. While losing is never fun, CALS Early College can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 1067th, while University Prep Value is ranked 492nd).
Port of Los Angeles' win ended a 13-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 2-13. As for CALS Early College, their loss ended a five-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 8-8.
