The Hollidaysburg Golden Tigers put another one in the bag on Monday to keep their perfect season alive. They took down Bellwood-Antis 54-38. Given Hollidaysburg's advantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 25th, while the Blue Devils are ranked 188th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Several Blue Devils players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Lainey Quick, who scored eight points along with four steals and two blocks. It was the first time this season that Quick posted two or more blocks. The team also got some help courtesy of Lilly Gerwert, who scored 12 points along with six rebounds and three blocks.
Hollidaysburg's win was their 14th straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 15-0. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 59.6 points per game. As for Bellwood-Antis, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 11-7.
Hollidaysburg's road trip will continue as they head out to face the Millionaires at 6:00 p.m. on January 31st. Williamsport is coming into the game hot, having won their last five games. As for Bellwood-Antis, they will be playing in front of their home fans against the Rangers at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Forest Hills will be looking to extend their current six-game winning streak.
