Alexis Ibarra was a standout: he got on base in all five of his plate appearances with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in hits (three). Meanwhile, Yerington got themselves on the board against Battle Mountain last Saturday, but Battle Mountain never followed suit. They came out on top against the Longhorns by a score of 4-0. The home team had taken home the W every time these teams have met since April 26, 2024, but that streak is no more.
Alexis Martinez made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out 13 over seven innings pitched. What's more, he gave up only zero earned runs, the fewest he's had since back in March of 2024. He was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one triple, one stolen base, and one run. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games he's played.
Martinez wasn't the only one making solid contact as three players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Erick Juarez, who scored a run and stole Two bases. while going 1-for-2.

Tuesday's game might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. North Tahoe has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .471. However, it's not like Yerington struggles in that department as they've averaged .458. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
North Tahoe came up short against Yerington in their previous meeting back in March of 2024, falling 12-9. Can North Tahoe avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
