Dunwoody is a perfect 3-0 against Shiloh since September of 2024 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. The Wildcats will look to defend their home field against the Generals at 5:00 p.m. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.
Shiloh will face off against a team with plenty of momentum: Dunwoody extended their winning streak to five on Tuesday. Everything went the Wildcats' way against Chamblee as they made off with a 14-6 win. 14 seems to be a good number for the Wildcats as the squad scooped up a victory with the same number of runs in their previous game.
Alyssa Rosenkoff spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and three unearned) runs on ten hits. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than one walk in five consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Dunwoody let Vivian Curry and Brooke Parkes run wild. Curry went 4-for-5 with three runs, two doubles, and two RBI, while Parkes went 3-for-5 with three stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI. That's the most stolen bases Parkes has posted since back in August. Another player making a difference was Sienna Rembelos, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double.
They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Dunwoody kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 16 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in five consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, while Shiloh put up plenty of runs on Tuesday, the same can't be said for Tri-Cities. The Generals blew past the Bulldogs 15-0. The Generals not only won on Tuesday, but they posted their biggest win since August 21st (when they won 18-3).
A'Rayna Davis was a standout: she went a perfect 2-for-2 with five RBI, one triple, and one run. The team also got some help courtesy of Lianie Jarquin, who went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one triple.
Shiloh's win bumped their record up to 3-12. As for Dunwoody, their victory bumped their record up to 17-4.
Thursday's matchup might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Dunwoody has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .491. However, it's not like Shiloh struggles in that department as they've averaged .472. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Dunwoody took their win against Shiloh in their previous meeting back in September by a conclusive 17-4 score. Will the Wildcats repeat their success, or do the Generals have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
