Baseball Recap: Coachella Valley Sets Scoring Season-High Against Yucca Valley

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Coachella Valley). They were the clear victors by a 16-5 margin over the Yucca Valley Trojans on Thursday. The win continues a trend for the Mighty Arabs in their matchups with the Trojans: they've now won nine in a row.

Coachella Valley got a massive performance out of Raymond Navarro, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. That's the most runs Navarro has posted since back in February. The team also got some help courtesy of Vince Ponce, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double.

Coachella Valley always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .606. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

The victory got Coachella Valley back to even at 8-8. As for Yucca Valley, they are on an 11-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-10.

Coincidentally, Coachella Valley and Yucca Valley will both be playing Twentynine Palms the next time they take the field. The Trojans will head out to face the Wildcats at 3:15 p.m. on Monday, while the Mighty Arabs will host them at 3:15 p.m. on the 28th.
