The York County Tech Spartans will head out on the road to face off against the Annville-Cleona Dutchmen at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this match.
Last Tuesday, York County Tech took a serious blow against Bermudian Springs, falling 69-37. York County Tech has struggled against Bermudian Springs recently, as their match on Tuesday was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.
The losing side was boosted by Le'Icessess Harrison, who scored 23 points along with eight rebounds and five steals. Those 23 points set a new season-high mark for her. Marissa Parker was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with 14 rebounds.
Even though they lost, York County Tech were smashing the offensive glass and finished the game with 25 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
Meanwhile, Annville-Cleona's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fifth straight loss dating back to last season. They fell to Millersburg 53-49. While losing is never fun, Annville-Cleona can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 353rd, while Millersburg is ranked 39th).
York County Tech bumped their record down to 1-3 with that loss, which was their third straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Annville-Cleona, their loss dropped their record down to 0-3.
York County Tech was dealt a bruising 57-29 defeat at the hands of Annville-Cleona when the teams last played back in December of 2022. Can York County Tech avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
