A feisty cat fight will be fought as Stockbridge Tigers face off against Forest Park Panthers at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday. Stockbridge will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak.
On Friday, everything went Stockbridge's way against Woodland as Stockbridge made off with a 12-3 win. The result was nothing new for the Tigers, who have now won four contests by nine runs or more so far this season.
Dereck Foster made a splash no matter where he played. He struck out 14 batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off five hits (and only one walk). What's more, he gave up only one walk, the fewest he's had since back in February. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two RBI.

In other batting news, Rod Hall and Jeremiah McGeachy did most of the damage at the plate: Hall scored two runs and stole Two bases. while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances, while McGeachy went 2-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. McGeachy is becoming a predictor of Stockbridge's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is 4-1 (and 1-7 when he doesn't). Messiah Gamble was another key player, scoring a run and stealing Two bases. while going 2-for-3.
Stockbridge kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least nine hits in four consecutive matches.
Meanwhile, after a string of three wins, Forest Park's good fortune finally ran out on Thursday. They lost 13-4 to Midtown. While the Panthers didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Knights 4-0 in the first period.
Forest Park saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Tyrese Jenkins, who went 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI. Carmello Turner also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.
Stockbridge's record is now 5-8. As for Forest Park, their defeat was their first in the region, dropping their region record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 7-3.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Saturday as neither team is afraid to steal. Stockbridge has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 6.5 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Forest Park struggles in that department as they've been averaging 9.1 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
