The Pitman Pride had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 17.7 points), and they went ahead and made it four on Tuesday. They strolled past Enochs with points to spare, taking the game 65-47. Pitman pushed the score to 57-28 by the end of the third, a deficit Enochs cut but never quite recovered from.
Pitman found their leader in underclassman Dailynn Greener, who almost dropped a double-double on 31 points and nine rebounds. That makes it three consecutive games in which Greener has scored at least a third of Pitman's points. Elizabeth Webb was another key contributor, scoring 16 points along with eight steals.
When it comes to explaining why Enochs lost, one person who can't be blamed is Maya Ramsay. Despite the final result, she scored eight points along with three steals. Ramsay continues to roll, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Izzy Ramel, who scored six points.
Even though they lost, Enochs were working as a unit and finished the game with 14 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.
Pitman is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matches, which provided a massive bump to their 14-10 record this season. As for Enochs, they have been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last seven matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-17 record this season.
Pitman will head out on the road to square off against Gregori at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully Gregori focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up seven on Tuesday. As for Enochs, they will look to defend their home court on Thursday against Downey at 7:30 p.m. Hopefully Enochs focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 31 on Tuesday.
