Meyersdale has enjoyed the comforts of home their last four games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will square off against the Berlin Brothersvalley Mountaineers at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Meyersdale will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Pennsylvania Rankings (they are ranked 523rd, while Berlin Brothersvalley is ranked 112th).
Meyersdale suffered their biggest loss yet this season on Monday. They were outmatched by Windber at home and fell 51-22.
Despite their loss, Meyersdale saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Laurel Daniels, who scored seven points along with two blocks, was perhaps the best of all. Another player making a difference was Jessica Daughton, who scored six points.
Meanwhile, Berlin Brothersvalley was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Thursday as they fell 46-42 to Williamsburg.
Meyersdale has not been sharp recently, as they've lost eight of their last nine matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-9 record this season. As for Berlin Brothersvalley, their defeat ended a six-game streak of away wins and brought them to 11-4.
Meyersdale was dealt a bruising 69-27 loss at the hands of Berlin Brothersvalley in their previous matchup back in December of 2023. Can Meyersdale avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
