The Perry Panthers's game last Friday was a tough loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. They walked away with a 57-46 victory over Washington. That 11 points margin sets a new team best for Perry this season.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Perry to victory, but perhaps none more so than Nico Martelli, who scored 18 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Martelli has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Luke Wolf, who scored ten points along with nine rebounds and three steals.
Washington lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Chris Knight, who scored ten points along with eight rebounds and four steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Giorgio Jackson jr, who scored ten points.
Perry's win ended a six-game drought at home and bumped them up to 4-11. As for Washington, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 10-5 record this season.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Perry will take on McKinley at 6:45 p.m. on Tuesday. McKinley has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 276 points over their last four matches. As for Washington, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Ashland at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday.
