Given Loara's advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 556th, while Bolsa Grande is ranked 1233rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Loara's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Dulce Espinoza led the charge by dropping a double-double on ten points and ten steals. Espinoza hasn't dropped below two steals for four straight games. Another player making a difference was Angela Ngo, who scored 14 points along with five steals and two blocks.
Loara has been performing well recently as they've won 11 of their last 13 games, which provided a nice bump to their 14-8 record this season. As for Bolsa Grande, they are on a 17-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-21.
Loara will head out on the road to face off against La Quinta at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. La Quinta is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last three games. As for Bolsa Grande, they will be playing at home against Santiago at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
