The Bennett Tigers will head out to challenge the Montrose Red Hawks at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. Bennett is coming into the game hot, having won their last four games.
Bennett is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They blew past Mitchell 25-10 on Saturday. The Tigers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six matchups by ten runs or more this season.

Bennett got a massive performance out of Adelyn Westendorf, who got on base in five of her six plate appearances with five stolen bases, five runs, and two RBI. The dominant performance also gave Westendorf a new career-high in hits (three). Another player making a difference was Jagoda Gutowska, who went 3-for-5 with three runs, four RBI, and one triple.
Bennett was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .594. Their batting average was a full 0 higher than the also-impressive .464 that Mitchell posted.
Meanwhile, Montrose came up short against Grand Junction on Wednesday and fell 7-2. The loss continues a trend for the Red Hawks in their meetings with the Tigers: they've now lost six in a row.
Bentley Schiller was huge no matter where she played even without the win. On the mound, she struck out eight batters over six innings while giving up just two earned (and five unearned) runs off eight hits. She has been consistent: she hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts in five consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with one home run.
In other batting news, Jaytli Cannizzo made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and went a perfect 3-for-3 with one run and one double.
Bennett's record now sits at 9-7. As for Montrose, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-5.
Both the two teams just can't seem to miss. Bennett has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 8.8 hits per game. However, it's not like Montrose struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 4.7 hits. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Bennett suffered a grim 20-5 defeat to Montrose when the teams last played back in September of 2024. Can the Tigers avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
