The Penns Valley Area Rams have not had quite the year their fans were hoping for to this point, but back-to-back wins may be a sign of good things to come. They walked away with a 35-25 victory over Central Mountain on Monday. That's another feather in the cap for Penns Valley Area, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Leading Penns Valley Area to victory were Kayla Hopkins and Ellie Romig. Hopkins scored four points along with five assists and two steals, while Romig scored 11 points along with seven rebounds.
Keely Rohrbach and Camdyn Weaver certainly did their best on Monday to try and avoid the loss. Rohrbach scored four points along with seven rebounds, while Weaver scored 11 points along with two steals and two blocks. Weaver hasn't dropped below two steals for four straight games.
Penns Valley Area's win bumped their record up to 4-7. As for Central Mountain, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-5.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Penns Valley Area will be staying on the road on Wednesday to face off against Bald Eagle Area at 7:30 p.m. on January 10th. Bald Eagle Area is out to stop a four-game streak of losses at home. As for Central Mountain, they will head out on the road to square off against Jersey Shore at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. Jersey Shore presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Central Mountain in Pennsylvania (Jersey Shore is ranked 118th, while Central Mountain is ranked 348th).
