Kennedy hasn't had much luck against James Logan recently, but that could start to change on Wednesday. The Kennedy Titans will be playing in front of their home fans against the James Logan Colts at 7:00 p.m.
Kennedy is headed into the contest having just suffered their biggest defeat since January 21st on Friday. They came up short against Moreau Catholic, falling 63-40. While losing is never fun, the Titans can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 606th, while the Mariners are ranked 148th).

The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Payton Siquig, who went 7 of 16 to rack up 15 points and six steals. She is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last 13 games she's played. Another player making a difference was Chloe Buchner, who went 7 for 9 en route to 14 points and seven rebounds.
Meanwhile, James Logan was able to grind out a solid victory over Newark Memorial on Friday, taking the game 62-54. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Colts.
James Logan's win came from a few key players Kennedy will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Tyliyah Miller, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 21 boards. That's the most rebounds she has posted since back in December of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Iwalani Lealao, who had 16 points along with five assists and three steals.
James Logan smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 28 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in 11 consecutive matches.
James Logan's win bumped their record up to 13-9. As for Kennedy, their loss dropped their record down to 11-11.
Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Kennedy has been smashing the glass this season, having averaged 29.9 boards per game. However, it's not like James Logan struggles in that department as they've been averaging 34.6 rebounds. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.
Kennedy might still be hurting after the 64-42 defeat they got from James Logan when the teams last played back in January. Will Kennedy have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check MaxPreps after the action for a full breakdown of the game and more basketball content.
