With a playoff win on the line, Elkhorn South rose to the challenge on Thursday. Everything went their way against the Gretna Dragons as they made off with a 22-14 win. The result was nothing new for the Storm, who have now won 15 games by six runs or more so far this season.
Lauren Schneider was excellent, firing off three home runs and nine RBI while going 4-for-6. Those nine RBI gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Macy Schneider, who went 3-for-6 with one home run, four runs, and three RBI.
Elkhorn South has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 24-13 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.8 runs over those games. As for Gretna, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 27-9.
