Washburn extended the longest winning streak in Minneapolis City this week by beating Minneapolis North, 48-20. This was the team's fourth consecutive win.
Minneapolis Southwest took down Henry/West Metro 54-6 last week, the largest margin of any game. Darin Richardson threw for 132 yards and two touchdowns and ran for 83 yards in the win.
The Lakers' offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. On the ground DeAnthony McKinley chipped in 140 yards. Camden Knuckles helped Minneapolis Southwest's passing attack out by catching three balls for 41 yards.
Maurice Alexander was the best wideout in the league this week as Minneapolis Southwest defeated the Patriots. Alexander racked up one reception for 55 yards.
Henry/West Metro's Markell Odom and Darius Hill have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Odom has thrown for 711 yards this season, while Hill, a 6-foot-4 receiver, has 23 catches for 368 yards. Washburn's Raymonte Maynard leads the league in rushing yards with 819.
John Biezuns' team made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 7,937 from 8,619. The improvement came about via a 54-6 victory over the Patriots last week.
