Baseball Recap: Dixon Makes It Three in a Row at Home

Dixon lost a heartbreaker the last time they played Lutheran, but it's fair to say they got their revenge given the result of Tuesday's matchup. The Dukes And Duchesses never let the Crusaders get on the board and left with a 10-0 victory on Tuesday. The result was nothing new for the Dukes And Duchesses, who have now won five games by six runs or more so far this season.

Daniel Fordham was a major factor no matter where he played. He didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out eight over six innings pitched. Those eight strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one run and one RBI.

In other batting news, Dixon got a big performance out of Gage Helfrich, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI. Helfrich is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last five games he's played. Another player making a difference was Exadrian Diaz, who went 2-for-4 with two RBI and one run.

Dixon was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .423. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Lutheran only posted a batting average of .105.

Dixon's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 10-5. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.7 runs on average over those games. As for Lutheran, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-10.
