The Liberty Bison entered their tilt with the Citrus Hill Hawks with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. Liberty strolled past Citrus Hill with points to spare on Thursday, taking the game 52-34. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Liberty also won the last time the pair played back in January.
Alex Barajas was her usual excellent self, scoring 22 points along with nine assists and seven rebounds. That's the first time this season that she posted eight or more assists. Kelli Harris-Wellman was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with 12 rebounds and three steals.
Liberty pushed their record up to 7-6 with that victory, which was their third straight at home. As for Citrus Hill, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost six of their last seven matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-9 record this season.
Liberty will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Perris at 5:30 p.m. on January 9, 2024. Citrus Hill will finish 2023 at home by hosting Citrus Valley at 1:30 p.m. on Friday.
