The Davis Sr. Blue Devils lost against the Cosumnes Oaks Wolfpack back in January of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. Davis Sr. fell to Cosumnes Oaks 57-51. Davis Sr. has not had much luck with Cosumnes Oaks recently, as the team's come up short the last six times they've met.
When it comes to explaining why Davis Sr. lost, one person who can't be blamed is Tessa Schouten. Despite the final result, she dropped a double-double on 22 points and 13 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Schouten has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Jiana Trotman, who scored six points along with 13 rebounds and two steals.
Even though they lost, Davis Sr. smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 24 offensive rebounds. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Cosumnes Oaks only pulled down an offensive rebound.
Isabel Tan continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for Cosumnes Oaks, scoring 25 points along with five steals. Another player making a difference was Caitlin Subejano, who scored 16 points along with five steals.
Davis Sr.'s loss dropped their record down to 7-9. As for Cosumnes Oaks, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 11-7.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Davis Sr. will take on Elk Grove at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Elk Grove has now lost eight straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since December 7. As for Cosumnes Oaks, they will head out on the road to square off against St. Francis at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. St. Francis is on a three-game streak of home wins, Cosumnes Oaks a three-game streak of away wins -- so someone will have to leave a streak behind on the court.
