16 must be Needles's lucky number: they beat Laughlin with that score not once but twice on Tuesday. The Mustangs put the hurt on the Cougars with a sharp 16-0 victory. Considering the Mustangs have won nine matches by more than nine runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Needles got a massive performance out of Tyler Wilson, who scored two runs and stole four bases while going 3-for-3. That's the most hits Wilson has posted since back in May of 2024. Another player making a difference was JD Lusk, who scored three runs and stole five bases while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances.

Needles has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 11-6-1 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.7 runs over those games. As for Laughlin, they dropped their record down to 0-8 with the loss, which was their sixth straight at home.

Looking ahead, Needles will face off against Lake Mead Christian Academy at 1:00 p.m. on the 11th. As for Laughlin, they have already played their next game, a 4-3 defeat against Indian Springs on the 4th.
