Chesapeake Math & IT Academy South's's 16-5 record from last season is now well into the rear view mirror after another tough outing. They might have been a little too into the holiday spirit, gifting Cardozo an easy 63-41 win. While losing is never fun, Chesapeake Math & IT Academy South can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps's basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 201st in Maryland, while Cardozo is ranked fifth in District of Columbia).
Cameron Young was his usual excellent self, scoring 20 points along with eight assists and three steals for Cardozo. Wisdom Carter was another key contributor, scoring 15 points along with six rebounds.
Chesapeake Math & IT Academy South's loss dropped their record down to 1-4. As for Cardozo, the win for they keeps them at an undefeated 9-0.
Chesapeake Math & IT Academy South will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Crossland at 7:15 p.m. on January 4, 2024. Crossland comes in still looking for their first win of the season. Cardozo and Richard Montgomery will round out the year against one another at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday at. One thing working in Richard Montgomery's favor is that they have posted big point totals every time they've taken the court this season.
