Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Chopticon). They snuck past the La Plata Warriors with a 33-28 victory on Thursday. Surprisingly, this marked the Braves' fifth straight game in which the away team has come away the victor.
Chopticon got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Jayden Chase out in front who threw for 245 yards and three touchdowns. Those three passing touchdowns gave Chase a new career-high. Jaydin Maddox was Chase's top target, picking up 133 receiving yards and one score.
Chopticon didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Justin Kelly II and Nicholas Copenhaver. Kelly II also set a new season-high mark in total tackles with 11. He got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.
With the victory, Chopticon broke their five-game losing streak and moved their record to 2-7. As for La Plata, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-8.
